Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Turner Hilton, operating Pantree ("Pantree," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the Pantree iOS app, usepantree.com, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Pantree is a kitchen-inventory and meal-planning service. It can process receipts, barcodes, shelf photos, and manual entries; maintain pantry information; estimate freshness; recommend recipes; and build shopping lists.
Pantree is an organizational tool. It is not a medical service, nutrition professional, food-safety authority, or substitute for product labels, professional advice, or official food-safety guidance.
Some features referenced by Pantree, including weekly-ad deal matching and savings tracking, may not be available in the current release. Terms relating to those features apply only when the features are made available.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pantree. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account. You must provide accurate account information and must not use another person's account without permission.
You may delete your account from Settings > Delete account in the app. Account deletion is subject to the retention practices described in the Privacy Policy.
3. License to use Pantree
Subject to these Terms, Pantree grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Service for personal or household purposes.
You may not:
- use the Service in violation of applicable law;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or another user's account or data;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or circumvent security or usage controls;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data except as permitted by law;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the Service without written permission; or
- reverse engineer or attempt to derive source code except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
4. Your content and account data
You retain any rights you have in content that you submit to Pantree, such as receipt images, shelf photos, feedback, and manually entered information. You grant Pantree a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Saving or viewing a third-party recipe, photograph, or product record does not transfer ownership of that content to you. Third-party and public-source content remains subject to its applicable license or terms.
5. Third-party data, recipes, and images
Pantree uses product data, recipe content, and images from third-party and public sources, including USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, USDA MyPlate, TheMealDB, and Pexels. Some Pantree recipe content and images are created with AI assistance. Source, license, and attribution information is available on the Data Sources, Licenses, and Attributions page.
Third-party data may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unavailable. Pantree does not control third-party sources and does not guarantee their continued availability.
6. AI-generated and AI-assisted content
Pantree uses AI for features including receipt extraction, shelf-photo item recognition, meal suggestions, and portions of the recipe and image catalog. AI-generated or AI-assisted results may contain errors, omissions, or unexpected outputs.
Generated recipe images are illustrative and may not match the finished dish. Generated meal suggestions and recipes should be reviewed before use, including ingredient quantities, cooking instructions, allergen information, and food-safety requirements.
7. Dietary, allergy, and food-safety disclaimers
Freshness and food safety. Best-by and freshness dates shown in Pantree are estimates. They are not safety determinations and do not establish that food is safe to eat. Follow product instructions and official food-safety guidance. When food safety is uncertain, do not rely on Pantree's estimate.
8. Deals and savings features
If Pantree offers deal matching or savings estimates, those features may rely on receipt data and publicly available retailer information. Prices, availability, eligibility, and promotions can change and are not guaranteed. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Pantree is not affiliated with or endorsed by the retailers whose information may appear in the Service.
9. Subscriptions and billing
Pantree may offer paid subscription plans through Apple's in-app purchase system. The price, billing period, included features, and any introductory offer are displayed before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple account before renewal.
Apple processes subscription payments and determines eligibility for introductory offers. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's applicable policies. You can manage or cancel a subscription from the Pantree app or through your Apple subscription settings.
10. Service availability and changes
Pantree may add, remove, suspend, or modify features from time to time. We do not guarantee that every feature, data source, model, integration, or third-party service will remain available. We may impose reasonable technical or usage limits necessary to operate and protect the Service.
11. Intellectual property
Except for third-party and public-source content identified separately, the Pantree app, website, branding, software, interface, and original content are owned by Pantree or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of Pantree's trademarks, software, or other proprietary materials.
12. Third-party services and links
The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including Apple services and external recipe or data sources. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Pantree is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Pantree at any time. Pantree may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, address security risks, or respond to a material violation of these Terms.
14. Warranty disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Pantree does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that product data, recipe content, AI outputs, freshness estimates, dietary filters, extraction results, deal information, or other information will be accurate, complete, or current.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pantree will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pantree's aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of $50 or the amount you paid for Pantree subscriptions during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the provisions above apply only to the extent permitted by law.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Changes to these Terms
Pantree may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised last-updated date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law.
18. General terms
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for a specific feature, constitute the agreement between you and Pantree regarding the Service.
Your use of the iOS app is also subject to applicable Apple terms governing App Store apps and in-app purchases.
